I recall my passion for design and fashion from as early as the age of six. I vividly remember spending hours playing with my dolls and making their clothes. Those hours spent playing with my dolls evolved into skills that I would later use to transform some of my dresses and tops. I did not keep these skills to myself. During my adolescent years, I began to help my friends and family members put outfits together. While sewing was not my strength during this time, I maintained a strong desire to create outfits that were consistent with my sense of fashion and style. As fate would have it, I came across a knitted sweater one day and challenged myself to make a knitted sweater or dress. I eventually decided on making a knitted dress, and I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the outcome.
While contemplating my next move, I became aware of a design challenge that was put forward by a local television show called “Great Day Houston.” I submitted my design for consideration in the challenge, and a few weeks later, the winner was announced. To my surprise and delight, I learned that I was the winner. Subsequent to this win, GL Designs was born. A couple years later, GL. Designs were changed to the brand name, “Gina Loánn.”
Gina Loánn develops bespoke vintage-inspired fashion with a modern flair. The brand thrives on bold creativity and infuses Gina’s custom-made lace in many of its eclectic pieces. Product lines include couture dresses and gowns for all occasions, including wedding dresses, along with tops, skirts, and accessories.
