Veltimera sparked as an idea in the summer of 2012, when I watched a video about the corrupt fur industry for fast fashion. I was so affected by it, that I became vegan and started the research for my brand to make it happen! Ever since that moment, I have done everything from marketing to material sourcing to website creation to finding sponsors and team members.
The first collection launched in the summer of 2013, which consisted of eight looks made in Los Angeles using all sustainable fabrics such as organic cotton and tencel. Each season there is a new short collection, along with a couple limited edition pieces for quick buys. There are also custom high-fashion designs for creative events and exclusive clients. Veltimera’s mission is to educate fashionistas and audiences about being environmentally-conscious and providing eco-friendly high-quality fashion made of organic/recycled materials with great textures and prints.
Born in Mexico and raised in California, I am a 22 year old college student living in North Hollywood where I attend The Art Institute of California for Fashion Design. Attending this school has provided me with endless opportunities, from interning with designer Louis Verdad, freelancing on Fashion Illustration jobs, and growing independent to be ready for taking these major steps in my career. I have known that I was an artist since childhood, but realized I loved fashion as a teenager; and once I learned to sew in college, I pushed the boundaries on what I could design and make.
Creating this Eco-friendly brand is the beginning to fulfilling my desire to create for others with a strong purpose in mind and getting to collaborate with exciting artistic personalities from all over the world. The idea of being successful enough to save animals from inhumane torture, children and families in poverty from unfair labor, and our Earth from the slow decay society has caused are what motivate my every breath of life!
