Lubna Designs, Inc. is fashion inspired by the woman’s body. Lubna’s influence includes a sense of formality from the Middle Eastern culture and understanding the correlation of the science of the fabric and how it moves when you move. People are not only going to see how beautiful you look in a Lubna Design, but how the garments talk when you talk. The flow of the fabric is art on its own. To Lubna, this is the true craft. She wants viewer’s eyes to move with the direction of the art. They (the wearer) are not cute; they are powerful.
Lubna looks forward to influencing fashion’s return to a classic respect for formality – longer hemlines; dressing for the body, and understanding how clothing and beauty work together for every woman and every shape.
Lubna Najjar, designer and owner of Lubna Designs Inc., has been sketching and designing since she was 15 years old living in the Middle East. Jordanianborn and raised, Lubna sketched on her own time. In her culture, fashion design wasn’t looked upon as anoble profession. But clothing design is how she has been able to express herself. She kept designing, making pieces for friends and family while simultaneously working in her field of study, International Relations. In May of 2013, she earned her Master’s in Business Administration.
In January of 2013, Lubna visited the United Arab Emirates where she attended the Dubai Fashion Festival and met designers whose passion was a lot like her own. Upon her return, she incorporated Lubna Designs, Inc. and her husband built her a studio. After slightly over 4 months she has clients from coast to coast, designing for wedding parties in New York City, radio and television personalities in Columbus, Ohio, private clients in Jordan and diplomat families in DC. Hosting trunk shows in Columbus, Ohio and Amman, Jordan, Lubna Designs can be seen featured on different websites and blogs.
