The Idea came about from my own personal life. I was always into the most eccentric fashion and styles, but as a busy mom, I found it challenging to find the clothing that I loved that was also comfortable enough for my “On-the-Go” lifestyle. I would also hear the struggles of my peers when they would go out for the night and end up “sweating out their good clothes”, or not being “dressed for this” physically demanding task. I was inspired. Since I was 9 I was nifty with a needle and thread, so I combined my gifts with inspiration from my peers and my own lifestyle to create a brand that was special, defined, and luxurious, but could be worn with the feel and ease of athleisure clothing. Thus, birthed the elevation, Piampé, “a different kind of luxury.”
I began sewing when I was 9 years old. At age 15, as a self-taught designer, I began creating my own original pieces and prom dresses for my classmates. I enjoy creating luxurious, sophisticated pieces with bold, whimsical textiles accompanied by sultry silhouettes. There is a lot of femininity in my work because I believe the female form should be embraced and not hidden.
I like to express myself in my designs subtly, without taking away the integrity of my aesthetic. I love excitement and drama, drizzled in sensuality. My designs are for those not afraid to embrace themselves because I believe we should be comfortable in who we are and what we wear.
