The SHUUBA brand was created in 2014 after by designer Twinamugisha Aggrey after he won the award for Best Up and Coming Designer in the Ugandan Fashion industry.
In the same year, he won a US MISSION UGANDA fashion challenge initiative, for creating an outfit that represented and described the relationship between Uganda and the United States of America.
In 2015, Aggrey’s designing prowess and brand gained significant recognition when he was awarded the best national costume on the African continent at the annual Miss Earth competition, for the outfit that he designed for Miss Earth Uganda.

Aggrey was born and raised by a single mother, with his three siblings, in a small village in Western Uganda. His humble beginnings challenged and motivated him to become a self-taught tailor and fashion designer, seeking knowledge from other local experienced tailors in the community where he lived.
He began his career as a fashion designer by recycling eco and waste materials to create stylish traditional clothing, for which he is now known.
Aggrey is currently working on a humanitarian movement called “Dress of Hope” where he is raising awareness for the importance of protecting women by providing vocational skills and exchange programs.
