Rebekah Silver Designs started out as a research project conducted by Rebekah Silver during her undergraduate years. Studying fashion from the Middle East, and later India and Pakistan, Rebekah became intrigued by the unique use of flowing textiles, embroidery, beading, and sophisticated, yet simple, style lines found in her research. She became curious to see how these elements could be applied to Amer??ican fashion. Rebekah fell in love with the resulting grace, elegance, and subtle comme il faut of the collection’s cultural fusion.
Rebekah Silver works in the fields of fashion and costume design. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Theatre Art Studies, emphasis costume design, from Brigham Young University (BYU). While at BYU she worked on several theatre productions as a costume designer and recently took a position as assistant costume designer for the upcoming Utah Festival Opera season.
On the fashion front, Rebekah is starting her own clothing line, Rebekah Silver Designs, which will debut at NY Fashion Week. She has presented fashion collections with Utah Fashion Week and recently presented a design project at the national Costume Society of America Symposium. During her undergraduate years at BYU, she received grants for research on historical fashion and costuming and took courses in couture sewing, patterning, and swimwear development.
