Shaazia Adam
Shaazia Adam is a Mozambican fashion designer born in December 7, 1990. Her love for fashion began at the age of 11; the strong interest in fashion led her to present her first collection at the Mozambique Fashion Week event, as a Young Designer at the age of 16. Three years later she enrolled at the Istituto Marangoni, in London, where she got her BA in Fashion Design and Honors in History of Art. During her studies she interned at Alexander McQueen and in 2013 won the best portfolio at the end of her course. When she finished her studies she returned to Mozambique where she still works as a fashion designer for her own brand.
The Shaazia Adam brand was launched in 2007, when Shaazia, as a Young Designer, presented her first collection at the Mozambique Fashion Week event.
The event had a huge media coverage that helped to expose Shaazia Adam and brand. From that day on, she continued showcasing her work on the runways of Mozambique Fashion Week and by 2009 she was already an established designer. The brand showcased on Riccione Moda Italia in 2015. On the 5 th of November 2015, the first store was opened in Maputo, and after that she showcase her new collection in Portugal fashion Week, where she also participated in Fashion Talks in some Portuguese fashion Institutes.
The Shaazia Adam brand consists of both Pret-a- Porter and Haute Couture line. Both lines are sophisticated, elegant and with a powerful edge to every piece.
