The background story of El Unico starts with a 17 year old who wanted to create a career, a life and a motivational business for women worldwide.
El Unico is all about embracement and being yourself, the aim of our designs is to empower women to feel confident and luxury. Designer, Elle hand sews every design from scratch, adding the touch of love to every piece, with the help of self-taught mum and friend.
My name is Elle Wilks, I am 17 years old. I may be young and fresh into the fashion industry but I have had a dream since I can remember of becoming a fashion designer and changing the world and reaching out to the world through design and business to allow them to understand its okay to embrace who you are. I left school last year with a plan, I joined an apprentership programme where I learnt about warehousing, manufacturing and business ownership. I learnt my weaknesses and my strengths, I found out more about who I was. I want to put my time and energy into my passion and create a life for myself to be proud of. I may not have a background of years in fashion or business but I am willing to learn and have the drive to succeed so this is me, Elle Wilks taking my first leap, New York here we come.
