SCAR Collections is a luxury destination for the chic and fearless women, comprised of women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, & beauty products curated by Fashion Designer Shamara Chrisannette “SCAR”. In 2009, Shamara and her mother Elaine came up with a brilliant idea to start an online women’s boutique, and from that moment on SCAR was birthed into fruition, based in Michigan. Elaine came up with the idea to name the unique brand SCAR after her daughter’s initials. Shamara a shrewd business woman and entrepreneur went in pursuit of her dreams and moved to Los Angeles, CA to study at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and received her degree in Merchandise Product Development.
Shamara’s main inspiration for this collection comes from her Muse, Mentor & Best Friend, Her Mother Elaine Annette. For many years Shamara admired her mother’s distinctive fashion style and has emulated what she learned from her to create her own genre of style. Shamara has always been a trendsetter since a young age and is known by her peers for impeccable taste and precise attention to detail, leaving a lasting chic and dynamic impression on others. SCAR’s brand is also inspired by Iconic & Fearless women, The SCAR’s of a women that make her undeniably fierce and authentic, sheer femininity & bodacious curves.
Our Goal at SCAR Collections is to empower women not only through Fashion but rather a way of living!
Shamara “SCAR” dedicates this fashion collection to her Mother, Elaine Annette
Fashion Designer, Shamara Chrisannette is a Detroit native, raised in Southfield, MI. She is the daughter of Elaine A.Thurman. Shamara has adored fashion since she was a young girl using her imagination and Muse (Her Mother) as inspiration to design at a young age as a way to express her innate creativity.
Shamara holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communications: Public Relations from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and has studied design and received her degree in Merchandise Product Development from The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, CA. In Fall 2015, Shamara launched her debut collection and is working on her Spring/Summer Collection. Her designs can best be described as charming, chic, alluring and brilliant works of art with a splash of femininity. Shamara’s designs in essence are inspired by the virtuous woman, distinctive & grandeur luxury, bold silhouettes and sheer glamour.
Shamara will debut her first collection at New York Fashion Week in September 2016.
