Dawn Sunflower (online boutique) is an international clothing brand launched in the 2011s. It was founded by Dawn Nguyen who are currently attending as a Fashion designer student at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Los Angeles and is running the brand to this day. Student Dawn Nguyen, who designs women’s ready-to-wear under the moniker Dawn Sunflower originally come up by her American/Asian names. The clothing lines aimed at providing a wide range of high quality trendy fashion clothing. From the outset, Dawn has been known for a woman unique, classic, and elegant style. Delicate good quality fabrics inside a single moment. Each single piece garments which embody are simplicity, classic, elegant and contemporary with class with her own label signature “Dawn Sunflower.
Dawn Sunflower line has been known custom made, had-made beads. Inside a single moment, delicate fabrics such as velvet, wool blend, lace, leather, silk and others fabrics are mixed to create a black and white contrast single piece garments which embody are simplicity and class. The search for soulfulness and sensitivity in the collections has evolved into a thoughtful and complex sensibility in all garments and accessories. With inspirations such as Chanel and Dior, Dawn describes her personal styles as simple and elegant. Using bright and bold colors such as gold, black, navy, purple, red, she chooses to designs styles that are ever-changing, effortless and flawless while still showcasing a feminine glamourous, yet classic and chic montage. She’s inspired by beautiful music, art, and various colors which enable her to bring her thoughts and creations to life.
Dawn moved to California from Asia in her early twenties. She graduated from UC Riverside with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 2011. During this time, she was selected as a part of a Cohort of 23 students study at University of Oxford program “Global Enterprise Management,” achieved a certificated given by Director Department for Continuing Education University of Oxford and School of Business Administration at UC Riverside. Dawn currently attends FIDM as a fashion designer in P.D program. “When I watch fashion runway shows, I fall in love with it. I want to show off my skills to the audiences.” Dawn shares.. She dedicates everything to fashion career and willing to give up anything for it. After a years of education, Dawn has started designing her own clothing line. By draping and sewing garments first, and then sketching her work, Dawn has found her unique approach to be beneficial for creating her signature looks. During time attends at FIDM, Her success is going, and Fast. In fact, she recently completed a couture evening gown collection for Las VeGas Fashion Week in Feb, 2013, a long with R-T-W during Birmingham Fashion Week March 2013. She also participated in an international student competition and was selected as finalist designs at the Royal Fashion Show in Feb 2nd, 2013. The Busy seamstress has also submitted sketches and completed sewing a full dress for a Princess Diana competition. Additionally, she has a Couture Collection Show in NYC at PLITZ Fashion Week approaching this September 7th. “If you love fashion, then you need to be passionate and dedicate to it. Life is not about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself,” says Dawn.
“Creativity is not about the result, but the journey. Don’t follow “creativity” by the ideas of others, but by your own taste or styles. A Noticeable difference she displays from others designers is that she loves to mix different colors and fabrics that create a bright/dark color contrast with an edgy twist. As a word of wisdom for aspiring designers? “Be confident in your creativity, be willing to try something new and challenging, never give up too early before attempting, and remain passionate to what you do and love.”
Her philosophy of fashion has it’s about your creativity, sending it into beautiful fabrics, and flattering others that somehow look different and beautiful while wearing your designs. Fashion is my means of expression. Fashion is my life. The smiles on people’s faces is what keeps me going. Sometimes, you should confident in yourself, I personally design out from the idea that I don’t want to look like the others, which is why I use all unique fabrics and my own design techniques. For me it often starts with some fabrics and colors, and then I work out from that. i build up my color charts from moods and feelings that I want to express. And Normally go on an inspiration with each of graphics, painting arts, love songs has its own theme, yet they get me signal some kind belonging with me to inspiration. Dawn says, “I often choose a different path. Communication/Expression/Emotion are essential. For me, it’s important to create something new, yet inspired though emotion. In every collection, a story. ” Dawn has chosen to live by this motto: “live with a purpose, love with a passion.” Dawn never gets enough and she states, “Never dream. Just do it! If you do Dream then Dream big.” She is willing to give up her entire life to fashion career as it consumes her heart, she can’t take it out of her body. Dawn loves to travel to view the world and exchange diverse ideas to improve professionally.
