Tokyo Twiggy is a custom textile brand that seeks to maximize custom streetwear and make it more unique and personable. Tokyo Twiggy was created in 2017 when designer, Jennifer Felts, was having issues finding fabrics that met her vision. She realized that many other designers and creators were having the same issues. This led to her into the textile printing and wanting to be able to make custom fabrics for her designs.
Jennifer Felts was raised in Dallas, TX. She moved to Indiana 9 years ago. Since a young age, she participated in youth groups that traveled around the world. She first went to Japan when she was 14 years old and that was when her love of fashion began after visiting the fashion district Harajuku in Tokyo. After years of struggling in fitting in schools, she decided to pursue her love of fashion 3 years ago at the Art Institute of Indianapolis. Through school, she realized she loved creating textiles. After graduation, she applied for Indiana Fashion Week’s emerging designer competition that was judged by the creator of New York Fashion Week, Fern Mallis, and was chosen as the winner.
